UPDATE! - Africa and India trips
God was more than amazing on both of these trips. I was able to see miracles happen, lives changed and experience God in new ways. One of the many things from Kenya was the opportunity I had to help feed around 800 families some bags of food. We were getting close to the end of the food, but there were still many people who were waiting. We had prayed that morning for a miracle to happen, but we just didn't know how it would. As we handed out the bags of food, someone asked us how many more bags were left. We counted and there were 8 stacks of 5 bags, 40 total. About 10 minutes later, after handing out many more bags of food, we were asked again. We counted. This time we had 5 stacks of 8 bags, 40 total! About 10-15 minutes passed, and many more bags went out the door. Again, we were asked how many more bags we had left. This time the count came back...4 stacks of 10 bags, 40 total!! After that, the number of bags got less. But God did a miracle right there. We were able to give food to every person who was waiting! What a great example of God's power.
In India, I was part of HydCity Fest. This was a large festival put on by about 50 churches in Hyderabad India and by Passion 4 People, a ministry from the USA. There were other ministries involved as well. While we were there we were able to speak in several schools, in malls and just out in the open. The main part of this week was the large festivals. There were BMX riders, free-style motocross riders, bands and of course the X Treme Team. We were all there to share Jesus in different ways. There were about 15,000 people who came over the 3 nights and over 800 of them gave their life to Jesus for the first time! The churches in the area have a great system of follow up, so there will be many being discipled in Jesus. What a great time!
Kenya Africa - August 31 - September 20, 2009
I will be going to Kenya Africa next! My time there will include building church buildings, helping ordain pastors of churches, bringing food and medical supplies in, leading pastor's summits, teaching at young adult leadership retreats and doing X - Treme Team outreaches all over the country. One of the highlights will be getting to go into the Massai tribe and telling them about my Jesus! Please pray for our team (Rick, Tim, Gary and myself) as we are Reaching Out With Truth. Anderson, IN and St. Louis, MO - March 25 - April 1, 2009
I will be going to Indiana and Missouri this week. I have the opportunity to share at a youth group in Indiana and then have an X-Treme Team event in St. Louis. I am taking my oldest son Ken with me so we can have some father/son time as well as using him in some of the ministry. Please pray for us as we go and please pray for the rest of my family who will be left at home during this trip. I will update how it went when I get back. Thank you for your support in furthering the Kingdom of God!
UPDATE
My time in Indiana and Missouri were great. God moved in great ways. We were doing the closing ceremony for Upward Basketball and Cheerleading in St. Louis. One of the guys who had been coaching for 2 years, didn't have a relationship with Jesus. The other men had been sharing Jesus with him but his heart hadn't turned. However, on that Friday night, his heart turned. He said he was tired of fighting and that he wanted what these men had been sharing with him about...he wanted Jesus! So he asked for the forgiveness of his sins and made the choice to walk with Jesus that night. His family was there with him and we know that God will do great things in that family as well. Pray that he will keep his faith strong.
I was also able to speak at the youth gathering on Sunday night in Anderson IN. I shared with them out of Deut 23. We talked about how God wants a pure camp, with no sin around. God desires for us to have pure lives. There was a good response to the message, and young lives asking God for forgiveness and for power to stay strong.
Hyderabad India - Feburay 11-16, 2009
I had the great opportunity to spend a few days in Hyderabad India. I went with
On The Go Ministries as well as with the
X-Treme Team. We were able to minister to many people during this very short time. We had some fun with the kids during 3 school assemblies and then saw God move in peoples lives during the Saturday evening festival titled "Big Love." God's love for us is Big. And His love for us is like no other. During this festival, about 200 people made a choice to follow Christ! That's why we do what we do. On Sunday morning, we saw peoples lives challenged to go and be witnesses to those around them...to make disciples. As the team leaves town, it is up to the church in Hyderabad to keep up the work. Getting to know the church there, I have no doubt that this work will continue. Check out these pictures of my time with the wonderful people of India.
